No Thing

Closing time, every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.

NO THING

If change is the only constant
Then why does it so surprise
The Catholic, the Baptist, The Protestant
When clearly it’s been defined

If change can be the only expectation
Then why do we complain
When change expectedly unfolds
And nothing stays the same

If change is the growth we are promised
And we ever resist it so
Do we not stall our own progress
When transformation is part of our soul

If change is the only constant
And by this we can define
Life’s little ebbs and flows
As the expansion of our minds

If change seems to ruffle feathers
Then why do we insist on staying the same
Rain, clouds, sunshine: so goes the weather
…Nothing will sustain

Except the only constant
Which acts in many ways
Change unfolds for you and I
No thing stays the same
